Why Intensive Therapies
Psychotherapy is for people who are experiencing problems or symptoms in their lives which are related to or triggered by their past experiences.
These problems or symptoms are having an impact on the way they think, feel and behave in the present, and/or how they consider their future. The effects may result in mental unwellness – anything from distress, depression or anxiety through to unhelpful coping strategies or personality dis-orders.
Some people prefer to work intensively on the problem or symptom once they have decided to tackle it, rather than treatment which may take months or even years. For those clients, I am willing to work in a different way to support them in achieving their goals.

Sessions
Typically, we will have a planning session for 60 minutes, where we collaborate on the diagnosis, contract and treatment plan. This will be followed by 1 or more sessions which could be 2 – 8 hours depending on need and logistics.
The treatment plan may include a variety of complementary therapies eg TA and EMDR as well as psycho-education.

Theory & Practice
Therapy is highly confidential, guided by codes of ethics and underpinned by a framework of theory and practise known as Transactional Analysis or Eye Movement Desensitisation and Re-processing.
Fee: to be negotiated dependant on treatment plan.
